Privacy Policy
designr is a personal style discovery tool. You connect your Pinterest account, swipe through the pins on a board you already own, and an AI model writes a short description of the aesthetic you gravitate toward. This page explains exactly what data we touch, what we don't, and who sees it.
1. Who we are
designr ("we", "us") is operated by the owner of designr.quest. Questions or requests can be sent to hello@designr.quest.
2. What we collect
When you sign in with Pinterest, we receive an OAuth access token scoped to your account. Using that token, we read:
- Your list of boards (name, description, pin count, cover image).
- The pins on the specific board you choose to swipe through (image URL, title, description, source link).
- Basic account info exposed by Pinterest's
user_accounts:readscope, used only to confirm the session is valid.
In addition, we collect what you create inside designr:
- Your like / dislike verdict on each pin.
- Any optional text notes you type on a card.
3. What we do not collect
- We don't read boards you didn't explicitly open in designr.
- We don't read your Pinterest followers, messages, private data, or other users' content.
- We don't use analytics, advertising trackers, or third-party cookies.
- We don't create a user account or password of our own — Pinterest OAuth is the only sign-in.
4. How we use it
- To display your boards and pins inside the swipe interface.
- To let you create a new board on your own Pinterest account containing only the pins you liked.
- To produce the AI-generated style description (see next section).
We do not use your data for advertising, model training, resale, or any purpose other than delivering the feature you asked for.
5. Third-party AI processing
We only send data to the AI provider when you explicitly click "Analyze my style". If you never click that button, nothing leaves our server for AI processing.
6. How we store it
-
Your Pinterest access token is stored inside an
encrypted session cookie on your browser (via
iron-session). We do not keep a copy on a server-side database. When the cookie expires or you sign out, the token is gone. -
Your swipe session (likes, dislikes, notes) lives in
your browser's
localStorage. It never touches our database because we don't have one. Clearing your browser data erases it. - Server logs may record routine request metadata (IP, user agent, timestamp) for a short period for security and debugging, per our hosting provider's defaults.
7. Sharing
The only parties that see your data are: (a) Pinterest, because that's where it comes from and where you may choose to write a new board back, and (b) the AI provider you implicitly select by clicking "Analyze my style". We do not sell or share your data with anyone else.
8. Your choices and rights
- Disconnect at any time. Revoke designr's access from your Pinterest account settings at pinterest.com/settings/apps. The token we hold becomes invalid immediately.
- Delete your swipe history. Use the "Start over" button on the review screen, or clear your browser's site data for designr.quest.
- Access, correction, deletion. Because we don't persist your data server-side, there's typically nothing for us to retrieve or delete on your behalf. If you believe we hold data about you, email hello@designr.quest and we'll respond within 30 days.
9. Cookies
designr uses exactly one cookie: a secure, HTTP-only, SameSite=Lax session cookie that holds your encrypted Pinterest token. No tracking or advertising cookies are set.
10. Children
designr is not directed to children under 13 (or the equivalent minimum age in your jurisdiction). We do not knowingly collect data from children.
11. Changes to this policy
If we change how designr handles data, we will update this page and the "Last updated" date above. Material changes will be highlighted on the home page.
